VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) are small fixed satellite antennas that provide highly reliable communication means for data, voice and fax between almost any numbers of geographically dispersed sites. VSAT technology represents a cost effective solution for users seeking an independent communications network connecting a number of remote sites.

VSAT networks offer value-added satellite-based services capable of supporting the Internet, data, LAN, voice/fax communications, and can provide powerful, dependable private and public network communications. At present, there are 5 (five) VSAT Provider with Hub Licensee, 12 (twelve) VSAT provider Licensee, 44 (forty four) VSAT User Licensee in the country.

 

Licensing Procedure:

  • VSAT Provider with Hub/ VSAT provider/ VSAT User Licenses are issued By Legal and Licensing Division of BTRC.

Equipment Importation Procedure:

  • To import V-sat equipments, Licensee needs to apply to Spectrum Division for Equipment Importation Permission with the copy of VSAT Provider with Hub/ VSAT provider/ VSAT User License, Brochure, Pro-forma Invoice.
  • After Getting Prior Permission for Customs Clearance, Licensee has to submit the copy of Airways bill/ Bill of Lading, Packing List, Commercial Invoice.
  • After getting customs clearance application from Licensee, Spectrum Division will issue an advance demand note which includes equipment charge and license fee. When Licensee pays the revenue according to the demand note submit the pay order, Spectrum Division will issue a Customs Clearance.

Each year a demand Note will be issued against the organization for yearly charges and fees. Here is to mentioned that Each V-Sat Equipment’s terminal charge is yearly 20,000 (twenty thousand) taka and License fee for each equipment is yearly 100 (one hundred) taka.
